THE FRINGE

Located in Chelsea Market, New York, N.Y., this restaurant is inspired by the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh Scotland. The Fringe accentuates the idea of celebrating uniqueness in motion while enthused by features that make up Scotland. The floor plan is stimulated by the action bystanders take when forming circles around performers in the middle of the street or walking straight along the sides to keep moving forward. The lighting system that defines the space, made from recycled bagpipe pipes, characterizes the quirkiness of the festival.
